School History

St Raphael's School was recognised by the Department of Education in 1963. The present school building dates from 1972.

The school originally catered for pupils in the moderate range of learning disability.  In March 2000 two classes were added for pupils in the severe/profound range of disability. Today the school caters for pupils with severe/profound intellectual disability, moderate intellectual disability and for pupils in the Autistic Spectrum between the ages of 5 and 18 years.

We are a core part of Saint John of God Kildare Services which provides a wide range of services for children and adults with intellectual disabilities.
