St Raphael's School Pupils Commemorate 1916
As 2016 is the 100th anniversary of the Easter Rising, our school like others across the country is commemorating and reflecting upon the events of 100 years ago.
Pupils in Class 5 made a model of the GPO and went into Dublin to visit the GPO building on O'Connell Street and Collins Barracks.
On Thursday 1 October 2015 the whole school was present when we received an Irish Flag and a copy of the 1916 Proclamation presented by members of Óglaigh na hÉireann. We will be raising the flag on 15 March (Proclamation Day) and hope to present our own 'Proclamation for a new Generation'. We invite parents and friends to attend this ceremony.
