Marathon Des Sables and 10k Run Fundraiser for St Raphael's School
Congratulations to parent, Robert Manson (Bob) who completed the 'Marathon Des Sables' (six marathons in five days across the Sahara Desert) from 3-11 April 2015. He along with his colleague Gordon D'arcy are raising money for St Raphael's Special School and the Peter McVerry Trust. The money they raised will go towards the purchase an interactive touch-screen white board for every classroom.
As part of his fund raising Bob also organised a 10k fun run and 5k walk in Fitzwilliam Lawn Tennis Club, Dublin on 23 May 2015 with a barbeque in the evening.
Members of school staff, parents and pupils took part in the fun day. The final total from both events is expected to be in the region of €20,000.
