Chickens in St Raphael's School
As part of a school hatching programme run by Cock-a-doodle-doo pupils in Class 1 were able to watch baby chicks hatch from eggs inside an incubator and grow into small chickens. This helps the pupils understand the life-cycle of chicks and ties in with the science curriculum.
Pupils from other classes also went to see the baby chicks developing. On their last day before the chicks returned to Cock-a-doodle-doo to be given a safe home our pupils held ‘Chick-Olympics’. Pupils watched the four chicks race each other to their food.
